A Universal Guide for Players v1.01

Since there are numbers of topics asking for armor & weapon suggestions, armor skills recommendations, drop rates questions, and tips against certain monsters, I felt that this topic needs to arise.

Downloadable Programs:

Ping's MH3G Dex
- This program is a database of almost every information you need/want to know from the game. Item drop rates, Carve rates, rewards for certain/specific Quests. Needed Materials for Upgrading/Crafting Weapons and Armor, Maps, Hunters for Hire Information, Agrosy Captain Trades&Commodities. Almost everything can be found in the Program. But hey, there's also a Weapon Gallery, in case you want to see how the weapons look. And also, it has monsters' hitzones information except Dire Miralis, which is still incomplete, probably because there's no gadget that allows Data-mining.

note: the following programs below are exclusive to Windows OS.

Athena's Fish Finder
- This is the program that you need to use if you want to check what Charm Table are you on. Basically, once you unlock one of the boats, you send it to start Fishing(Moga Coast). Once it comes back, you check the rewards/items you got from making it sail. You now then input the items you got into the Program. Please bear in mind that you need to "input the items in respective order". Once you get the job done and it is still not showing what Table are you on, just keep sending the Boat/s on Fishing(Moga Coast) and input the rewards/items respectively, the Charm Table should narrow to one. As for the guide about charms, please refer to the other sticky in this board. The name of that topic is: "Charm Table FAQ: The basic of what you need to know".

Athena's Charm Table Search - This is the program that you need to use if you want to check what kind of charms are available in every table. This is a good starting place to look for the table you want to be in. Table 6, 10, as I have seen are the most popular ones.

Athena's Armor Set Searcher - This is a program where you input the skills you like/need/want to have. It lists out every possible armor combination for the desired skills you chose. It doesn't allow to input negative skills, sadly, so no Troll Sets for you. It has a simple interface, so you wouldn't get lost. Just input what Level of Stars are you on Moga Village and Port Tanzia, the charm table you are in and the charms you have(you can import them here), available weapon slots, and... you're set! There's also an Advanced Search Option, use this to filter out the Equipment you don't want to use.For example, there's a piece of armor that requires Pallium, Hardhorns, you can exclude that piece of equipment, saving you tons of time grinding for that material.

Guides:

Charm Sniping/Shotgunning
- an in-depth Guide for hardcore players who are willing to spend a long time just for a piece of Equipment. It's recommended to follow this guide when you're at G-Rank.
Source: http://forums.minegarde.com/topic/6941-charm-snipingshotgunning-in-depth-guide/

Village/Port Key Quests Guide - sorry but the FAQ here in Gfaqs doesn't cut it out for newbies. This guide is much more in-depth. It shouldn't cause confusion, I guarantee you.

please don't post yet.

Other Resources:

kiranico.com
- another useful resource if you aren't on your PC(or just feeling lazy) to open Ping's MH3G Dex.
monsterhunter.wikia.com - it's a wiki, nuff said. I'd argue about using this, because it has too many images, which can cause lag on low-end smartphones, and the mobile version is terrible.
forums.minegarde.com - an alternative for the Gfaqs Board of MH3U(& other MH Games). The people there are damn nice too!
Etc, I didn't list any other resources, since I feel those^ resources are already enough. If you know any, post them onto this thread.

Credits:
AthenaADP
- for those helpful programs he/she coded.
Jask - for the Charm Sniping/Shotgunning Guide
Joker - for the Village/Port Key Quests Guide
Ping - for the very helpful MH3G Dex he made
& Thanks to all the other people who helped those people, and the behind-the-scenes kind-of people. Literally Thank you Very Much!

Sorry for the first one, it was a bit of rushed... a bit of a fail in my part for the link on the Fish Finder on the first version of the thread....
Can you please unsticky this: http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/642342-monster-hunter-3-ultimate/68869275
And sticky this thread now? Thanks!

good to know evilocke, although I don't often use the wiki.

Mx4_1204, totally looking forward for it. Once you finish it, can you PM me? So that I can make another thread. I looked over your weapon ranker for mhfu, it looked like boldrin's guide, coz it also says at what rank those weapons can be crafted.

Also requested sticky.

Also, another user on the wii U boards has made really awesome video guides for each weapon here.

@jeof, sure. I take a lot of inspiration from Boldrin. I'll be redesigning my FAQ to be more like that when I'm done as well.
