KainnK19Posted 4/18/2012 9:44:16 AM | I'd love a new online game where I can run around as a healer and support a team. Heroes of Ruin on the 3DS is taking too long, so now I'm looking at Ragnarok Odyssey - despite the fact I speak no Japanese.
How is the multiplayer? Would I be able to find a team to support a squishy, weak Cleric if I'm good at healing? Is there even healing in this game? (Come to think of it I've only seen gameplay of sword users)
This game is absolutely gorgeous and I'd love to play, but it would be perfect if I were able to roll a support class!

The games online is active, I played phantasy star online xbox and it was laggy, but I currently steal WiFi for the vita and most games are not laggy . if I play with people in America its runs smoothly. BTW I am from the Bahamas. I hate to say it but if your playing with 4 players especially if someone is using a bow, you won't need healing cause everything gets raped. So far only 3 bosses seem to give people problems(last 3 boss fights); a few others to if people don't know how to fight them. you can only carry 3 items, and items have a limited about you carry into missions. So mainly as a healer you may just be cureing debuff and other stuff. I deleted my other post but it just explained how clerks works and that you would need a skill that shares your used item to the rest of the party, that's the only way to be a real healer in this game. Clerks have to charge to heal and its healing range is a area around the user |
KainnK19 (Topic Creator) Posted 4/18/2012 11:20:12 PM | Wow, that's not what I expected at all. So there isn't any demand for healers? That kills my interest a bit... the game still looks amazing though. What benefits does Cleric have going for it, then? I'm sure they aren't as good at magic as a mage, so why would you want one? --- Consider the following before reviewing a game: http://img848.imageshack.us/img848/8180/131196615985951.png |
a_gon_neePosted 4/19/2012 5:47:43 AM | There is pretty much 0 reason to be a support char in this game sadly. And even if you did your healing options are:
-Standing there charging an attack(up to 3 sec) to leaving a healing zone on the ground. Standing still in a spot for that long will get you killed on the later bosses.
-Equipping 'share item' cards, so whenever you use a potion others in the party get some healing.
That's about it (mind you I haven't tried the class). I've seen less than 5 clerics total while playing online (over 20hrs now). |

So I have to ask: What's the point of Clerics?
Do they have decent melee? Do they have a good attack which is unique to them?
From what I've read off the (horribly) translated wiki I found, Clerics have the highest Defense of any of the classes, and they have a Counterattack which activates when they guard correctly which causes a big glowing hand to smack the enemy for big damage. Is this accurate? What's the damage on the counterattack compared to the regular DPS of a Hammersmith?
I know I could always roll with a Hunter and shoot things in the face (which looks fun) but I hate playing overplayed classes, and Hunters are usually a dime a dozen in these types of games. If anyone can give me some perspective on these I'd really appreciate it! --- Consider the following before reviewing a game: http://img848.imageshack.us/img848/8180/131196615985951.png |
a_gon_neePosted 4/19/2012 9:55:13 AM | If you want to be unique/rare play a hammersmith with the right setup. As I stated before I haven't played the cleric, only seen a few about. |
G-Know-nitz_lowPosted 5/4/2012 7:08:08 AM | Can you finish the quests online and acquire the next quest? Or is it like MH when you finish one you only get items/rewards but not new quest? |
a_gon_neePosted 5/5/2012 10:07:38 AM | Yes you can do the whole game online. Also I take back what I said in my last post about the cleric. The recent updated added far harder quests, the ice and fire cat pair took almost 15min to kill. Both can 1 shot people. A healer is needed for that quest for sure. |
