How is My Unit different from the previous game?

I heard that there's another MU in a previous FE game. I think I read somewhere whch stated that the MU in Awakening is a big improvement from the previous MU.

Can someone please tell me what the improvements?

Exclusive class(that your not limited to), ability to pick a best/worst stat (which has a small effect on other stats), ability to have a kid

Ah thanks! So this means only MU can be strategist and other characters cannot be strategist even if they try to use seals?

Only MU's children can change to Strategist.

And there is one thing both MUs share in common: They're both incredibly broken!

You mean MU is really powerful statwise? xD

If so, can you please tell me which stat the MU is most powerful?

If I plan to stick with Strategist... what is a recommended stat to boost for MU?

For FE13, Best Speed/Worst Luck is so far considered the best in terms of growth. I've had good results using it. Plus, the War Knowledge skill (increase exp gain by 1.5x) means MU levels very quickly, taking full advantage of those growths.

FE12's MU is a bit different in that you choose their starting class, and then pick 3 options that modify base stats and growth rates depending on what you choose (more details on that here: http://serenesforest.net/fe12/myunit.html), so you choose the options that best suit what you want your MU to specialise in. You can get some pretty crazy results.

Another big factor is that both MUs are available from the very beginning of their games, and remain available throughout, giving you the entire game to develop them. That, coupled with their incredible growths and versatility makes both MUs easily among the best units in the series.

I'm a bit confused here, which game is this? Fire Emblem Awakening is the 13th game right?

I read the FE Serene growth stats page and it seemed really confusing. I'm curious as to why you would focus on Speed? Isn't a strategist one who can wield both weapons and magic? Shouldn't strategist focus on stuff like magic or attack or something?

And why do you have to pick a worst stat?

By the way, this is quoted from Serene FAQ:

"My Unit can support every playable character (excludes bonus characters from SpotPass and DLC) ..."

But the MU can clearly have a support conversation and achieve S rank with Inverse, the convo is listed on the support convo page.

So it appears MU can actually support and S rank Spotpass characters? Is the FAQ incorrect in this regard?
