How is the co-op?

I love fire emblem. Played and beaten all the ones that came handheld to the states, even shadow dragon 5 star hard. Can't get enough, will for sure get this for myself. My girlfriend and I both own 3DS systems, and I was curious. I am trying to get her into the series. Is the co-op component good enough for it to warrant me buying 2 different copies? Or are we better off with one game and different save files?

Thanks!

There is one called Dual Tag. Both players choose three units and pair them up one at a time with the other players units. You fight preset teams which have shared classes. (Serge's Aerial squad, Callum's defense squad etc.)

According to Serenesforest, there are 10 in-game squads and 12 spotpass squads, all of ranging difficulty with different rewards.

I wouldn't call these 22 battles worthwhile unless the both of you really like Fire Emblem, but you said you were just introducing her to the series so I don't think it would be worthwhile.

Yeah, this Fire Emblem pretty much removed all the direct PvP multiplayer. (Don't think FE ever had co-op at all)

You can sent your set spotpass team to her game, and you could fight her characters/she could fight yours, but they are AI controlled.
