Dumb question: Why and when to reclass?

#1TesseusPosted 1/4/2013 5:15:18 AM
I understand that you would want to class change from some horrible class.

Can you promote a class and then reclass them? Would it reclass to a promoted class or back to a pre-promote class?

What's the point of reclassing if they're already a good class? Do you reclass so you can be in a higher growth stat class or something and then reclass back? When would you reclass in this instance the first time and second time?

Basically - skills. Each class learns a skill at level 1 then level 10, I think 5 then 15 for 1-tier classes that go to level 30, but don't quote me on that one. So for each class branch that's a possible 6 skills to learn (choose your promotions, like in Sacred Stones.) You also get higher stats by going through more classes.

Get all the skills you can than reclass and repeat. After you've done that switch to the class you want to remain as.

However, you probably won't do all that reclassing until postgame. Well you need to for some of the of postgame content.

Also once you've gotten to 20/20 or whatever you can reclass and keep gaining levels to max out your stats

This. Unpromoted Classes get skills at 1, then 10. Promoted Classes get their skills at 5 and 15. Classes that go up to 30 get theirs at 1 and then 15.

Your growth rates change too depending on what class you reclass into, but you can also reclass at level 20 to the class you are now(except at level 1) to lvevel up some more. Its triiiippy stuff.

Classes also change growth rates which helps the units that have a particularly low stat, for example Sumia and Tiamo have terrible magic growths even as a Dark Pegasus, to gain magic faster you should level them as Sage and Sorceress respectively, and them change them back.
