they have a three-day policy where if you don't pick up a package, they ship it back to the sender after three days

I ordered from Amazon with free shipping which takes like 5-8 business days

estimated arrival is Feb 11-13

but they warned for shipping delays and my Spring Break starts March 2 and goes through the 9th, and I'm planning on going back home either Feb 27 or March 1

...if it's delayed until that week, I'm screwed =[

You could always cancel your Amazon order and just get it in a store if you're worried.

Except most stores have stopped allowing preorders now.

I suppose I could take the bus to Walmart on release day but...it's cheaper with Amazon lol

As far as I can tell, the estimated amazon dates already include the delay.

Only Gamestop has done this. Walmart, Target, Best Buy, etc are all still taking preorders.

Sounds like you should contact your housing office. You are probably not the only student expecting to receive a package over Spring Break. It would seem reasonable that they should suspend that policy (which BTW 3 days seems pretty quick to send something back) when they know many students will be leaving for the week.

You may also want to check if 3 days are 3 calendar days or 3 business/class days. There may not even be anyone to process packages during spring break.

You can probably talk to the mail room at school and get them to make an exception. If they know you're going to get it eventually and haven't forgotten it, they'll probably hold it for you
