I don't know who to be more pissed off at.

Boost eshop sales by having some retailers sell the game early. Good plan.

That's not the only thing that's happened. Shipments are late and small.

Nintendo doesn't own retailer warehouses. They can't force retailers to pay extra money to ship the game from retailer warehouses and into their stores outside of regular shipping days. They also can't force retailers to purchase more copies than they're willing to buy. Nor can Nintendo magically print a hundred thousand more copies, ship them to retail warehouses, then have the warehouses deliver to their own shops a week before release.

Seems at the very least possible that the shipping back up could be tracked back to Nintendo.

Anything's possible, of course, but you don't go assigning and exonerating blame on a mere possibility, do you?

What we do know for certain is that EBgames put the game up for sale early, some stores here are doing the same, some other stores aren't, and none of those stores can give us a straight answer for some reason. That's it. Any sort of so-called evidence one way or the other is conjecture at best.

It's because every retailer does things a little different and you're also going to get employees who know more than others.

A good thing to do is whenever you call up a big box retailer, like Walmart or Target, ask to speak to a stockroom worker, as they can check the real quantities that are stored in the stockroom, not just the small amount kept on the sales floor. Sometimes it might appear a game is out of stock, but there are a lot of copies kept in the back that just haven't been brought out yet.

I work at Target, and I just wanna let ya know that the "stockroom workers" are the same as the salespeople you see on the floor.

We do our own pulls, except a few exceptions, and we have full access to inventory numbers between the sale floor and back room.

...and no, none of our local stores have received our copies of FE yet. :(

There's an issue in the amount and speed of stock getting to stores. It could be Gamestop, but it's not an issue with only Gamestop, Nintendo is the common link.

Yet there's also the matter about some stores already having their stock, some of which have even sold the game early. That brings in the shipping company itself as another link.

In addition Gamestop's the only one saying anything about the 8th, which raises an issue that may not even have any link to Nintendo. For all we know the games are in transit and due to arrive Monday and Gamestop's just being weird about the 8th thing - again, more possibilities.

Never mind the fact that it isnt just Gamestop getting it late as every retailer has the same story, even amazon.

Which is why people need to stop crying and put blame where it actually lies.

Retailers getting the game late by itself isn't the problem, if it was as simple as that we'd just say Nintendo delayed the game and that'd be the end of it, case closed.

But when some places have their shipments already while others are saying there's a delay, and stores within the same chain give us conflicting stories about when the shipments are due to arrive, while some other stores in that chain have their shipments already...

It's pretty obvious it's not as simple as that.

And let us not forget it's not even the release date yet...
