Does the marriage/inheritance system limit the variety of characters?

All the characters are young, single, and looking to marry, We don't any Pent/Louise predetermined couples, no family men like Dorcas, Garcia, or Brom who have families, and no old people like Niime or Yodel. Will it stay this way in the future?

I really loved Ross in Sacred Stones and was entertained by his ability to surpass his initially stronger father by ... a very ridiculous margin.

I'm not really bothered by the lack of elderly or pre-married cast; though I wouldn't object if they were included. I'd still prefer Same-Sex-S Rank Supporting / Family creation above this.

I don't care as much about old people either. It's not as if Wrys was a terrific unit.

I noticed this too.

However, I don't think they will bring back the marriage system for the next FE game, considering its you know, a crossover with SMT.

So we shouldn't have this problem again. In case you've noticed, Fire Emblem Awakening is so packed with stuff that the next FE game (be it the crossover or regular series) can't just be more of the same. It has to make some significant gameplay changes, and I personally see them as getting rid of the marriage system and going back to a traditional linear storyline with stronger strategic elements.

I'd be cool with that.

I'd like maybe a longer single story and maybe finally a good multiplayer set up.
