Best unit for berserker class?

Not sure who I want to use for my Berserker since none of them that can become one I am interested in so far. Who turns out to have the best stats?

Vaike is horrible for everything, all he gets is flat hp and has ~10 defense the entire game. And you'll be lucky to get his Res above 3-4.

Then i i must have gotten really lucky in both my games as he usually as 18-22 def and around 8 base res by the time i change him from hero to berserker.

Vaike is pure gold, though. He's the Jersey Shore party member. He's tan, doesn't wear a shirt, is uncultured, and is constantly saying his own name (and trying to turn it into a catchphrase).
