The villagers in Paralogue 3 don't deserve to live.

"Gee, maybe instead of waiting in the middle of the easily defendable forest, I'll walk out onto the side of a hill no foot units can go on, and allow Pegasus Knights to ORKO me!"

I give up, one of them HAS to die during this chapter from stupid **** like this, it is impossible to keep all of them alive, it's almost as bad as FE5 14x.

Rescue staffs, yo.

I try, but they always keep walking AWAY from my staff users who don't have enough MAG range.
Like I said, too dumb to live.

You haven't played many games with escort missions have you? It's the escortee character's job to rain mindlessly towards danger and force you to balance beating the enemy and keeping them alive. The escourtee is always ALWAYS and idiot and unable to defend themselves properly, it wouldn't be and escort mission other wise.

Use Sumia and Cordelia to draw the attention of the enemy pegasus knights, if they're strong enough. Use Frederick to draw the attention of the enemies lying in wait on the left hand side.

Send only the MU towards the right hand side, the rest down towards the villagers.

You only need one of them alive to get the reward anyway; I don't think there's any incentive other than player morality to try and save all three.

That said, keeping even one alive is pretty difficult, because they run toward those pegasus knights like fish flying into a bear's jaws. Too bad you can't use the Rescue command in this game; as I recall, that's how I used to handle protecting NPCs in other FE games, but it's not an option here. You can't even block the idiots from running toward them with a wall of your own characters, because they can pass right through you.

So yeah - the only option is to either distract or kill the enemies as quickly as possible. If you have Virion leveled up decently, throwing him in their way will almost always provoke an attack - and so long as he has speed or defense high enough to dodge/survive their attacks, you can then blast them out of the sky on their next turn. (Or the same turn, if they're dumb enough to attack him with javelins.) If he has any supports, have that character go with him to increase his odds. Supplemented with your own pegasus knights, you should be able to draw enough fire from the villagers to let at least one live.

I think maybe one died when I did it. Mainly since by that point, I had pairs/units that could OHKO most enemies.

Man, those guys don't even make it to the mountain. They get flanked in the forest, even if I have my units trying to protect them.

I used Pegasus units to BAMF Frederick and Lissa to the villagers, but they were too slow to save them from their stupidity. I have no sympathy for them. It was also the mission where I lost Virion to a double attack.
