So, Who Else Killed Gaius?

** SPOILERS **

I'm curious, who else killed Gaius when they tried to assassinate the Queen/Exhaulted? I had Chrom watching the flank and he kinda just ran up, attacked Chrom, missed, and then got obliterated by a critical attack before I'd even had a chance to see what happened.

I thought to myself, "Oh, he'll come back later... right?". Nope. He didn't. Damn.

I had the same thing happen, and I figured he would come back. I was wrong.

Does he have a different death message that hints at that? Can't think of any FE characters that worked like that. Unless you were on Casual and thought he'd be back or something.

My friend did because he thought Gaius would join after defeating him.

It's amazing how in a game with the easiest recruit requirements of any RPG -- talk to X with Chrom for 99% of the cast -- people still manage to kill characters off.

Play Fire Emblem: Awakening.

Why do people think killing a character is the way to recruit them?

"Oh I know, maybe if I kill him, he'll join my army as a zombie!"

It's a bit more understandable in this game since the DLC or Spotpass (unless you want to fork over gold) map requirements are basically 'kill everything, get new character'. But I'm sure there're more than a couple people on the FE7 boards who wondered why they kept getting Game Overs for attacking Fargus, too. People just aren't that bright, or otherwise don't bother reading or thinking critically.

I agree. In almost every other game, there were at least a few units that were difficult to recruit, especially if you never used them.

Like Cath was a giant b****, you had to do that talk with her 3 times...
