Just heard from a nintendo rep why the game still isn't in stock

My girlfriend works at Gamestop and they got a visit from a Nintendo rep this morning. They said that the game was discontinued because every cartridge contains this chip that is supposed to increase the frame rate, and said chip takes about three weeks to make.

Whether you want to believe this or not is up to you. Nintendo reps have been wrong before. Not to mention that discontinuing a brand new game that is still in high demand is a pretty terrible move.

Odd reasoning, but it sounds so specific it could be true

On the note of frame rate issues, I notice the game lagging somewhat during battle sequences with lots of dragon/horse/wyvern models

Yeah I noticed that too. Thought it was a bit strange...

How's the frame rate on the downloadable copy? If the cartridge has an extra chip then shouldn't the frame rate on the downloadable one be worse?

The larger models probably have lots more polys/parts that need to move so it makes sense it would slow the game down

But yeah, I wasn't quite expecting that to happen in this game

The framerate seems perfectly fine on my eShop copy, but I'm at like Chapter-15-ish and haven't gotten into the Paralogues past the fourth, so it might get worse later on? Eh.

I have noticed frame-rate issues when I turn the 3-D on during battle animations a couple of times from my downloaded copy.

But discontinuing a the highest rated game for a platform right after it comes out sounds terribly dumb even if this is true.
