Sounds like a big fat lie. Just a well constructed one.

Lies either have to be so convoluted that they can fool people who don't' wish to look into it further, or believable to the point where one feels they don't need to look into it further.

How's the frame rate on the downloadable copy? If the cartridge has an extra chip then shouldn't the frame rate on the downloadable one be worse?

I only have frame rate issues when I turn the 3D on. It's most noticeable on units that are bigger, especially when Dark Fliers are casting magic. Skills with particle effects like Ignis and Vengeance drop the frame rate with 3D on too.

Odd reasoning, but it sounds so specific it could be true

On the note of frame rate issues, I notice the game lagging somewhat during battle sequences with lots of dragon/horse/wyvern models

Mine seems fine, and I have Yarne and Nah pair together so it's double transformation and vsing a horse. It could be case-by-case basis.

Even though it seems like frame rate is an issue, (though I've had no problems on my end) it sounds like their just trying to make an excuse to cover up their lack of launch preparation. Discontinuation certainly should not be the answer.

Nintendo just wasn`t ready for such high demand for the game. I hope the same thing doesn`t happen with Castlevania.

This makes zero sense given the availabilty of a download version that is identical to the cart version.

There was actually a Nintendo rep at my store as well when I went to pick up Metal Gear Rising. No idea why he was there, but it seems plausible...
