I've been checking everything from bestbuy to random local game shops for weeks and its seems like everybody was shipped exactly 1 copy of FE:A, its semi-first party and the first major release for the 3ds in a few months, you'd think people would be desperate to stock the shelves with something new.

Because you didn't reserve it, same as everyone else that can't find it.

It's a combination of a botched release and Nintendo not caring enough to do anything about it because the game's readily available on the eShop.

Ok, that's it. I really can't figure out how America is having a shortage for so long.

The NA version is _VERY WIDELY_ available here in CHINA. Here's one store that has sold 60 copies in the past 30 days, and still has stock:
http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a230r.1.10.1.0tA8yP&id=17198898325

Another one that sold 30 copies, has stock:
http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a230r.1.10.30.0tA8yP&id=17203954824

Here's one that recently ran out of stock, but had delivered about 60 copies in the past month:
http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a230r.1.10.16.0tA8yP&id=18596899962

The game is not severely underprinted. And no, 3DS games cannot be pirated yet.

Maybe China bought all the copies...

I found mine at Target or Bestbuy (forget which one). I hope you are calling the stores instead of visiting them... Gamestop pretty much told me that I was never going to get a copy there anytime soon. Try ordering online with your/your parent's credit card, or calling into stores like Walmart, Bestbuy, Target, or Kmart every week (probably on the weekends) until you find one. Most stores will hold the game for you if you give them some way to identify you when you come in.

Stores should probably start getting them in about now.

Supposedly Amazon said they would be back in stock (for them) on the 26th.

Well, I found a copy of the game at one of the Gamestop stores in town where I live sometime last week.
