On chapter 11; question about Chrom pairing

Should I like, grind the girl I want to be Chrom's wife before doing the story mission of this chapter, in order to ensure I get Chrom's kid with decent stats?

Or, is there still a time after chapter 11 to grind whoever the game give me as Chrom's wife for the kid stats?

Chrom's kid won't join until the end of chapter 13, so while you better have his wife chosen now, you still have time to stat/skill grind if you so choose.

Chrom's kid IS female, though- the ONLY unique skill she can get, if thats your concern, is Olivia's Luck+4. (well, and her special dance, but thats useless to anyone aside from Olivia herself).
