The point is you lose if anyone dies, as opposed to only when the lord dies. Try playing lunatic with the mentality of not resetting, you wont get far. You are suppose to use trial and error to learn the most effective strategy on each map, because only the most effective strategy will work.

If you can beat a bunch of chapters in Casual without characters falling in battle, you could probably handle Classic.
