Street Pass Team Ranged Concern

I feel like giving an Assassin in a street pass team a bow will screw with the AI, and make it ONLY use the bow in place of any of its sword weapons unless it would do 0 damage, or unless the enemy themselves are using a bow. Is this the case? Or will the AI use a sword if it does significantly more damage, while the Bow still does at least 1 damage?

They'll use the bow if the enemy is using magic or a 1 range weapon. Will switch to the sword if the enemy has 2 range axe or using bow.

Yeah, that's what I was worried about... because if they use a bow for the sole purpose of not being hit back, they may do faaaaaaaaaar less damage, and then be hit without retaliating the next turn. I'm worried the Levin Sword and whatnot will have the same problem >.>... so I'm considering going purely melee range weapons on the assassins...
