Some longtime fans are saying it's overrated, though people who never played a Fire Emblem game before are eating it up and calling it the best SRPG ever.

It depends on your definition. FE7 was the one that first popularized the series but FE13 is the most popular. Though if FE13 really makes the series mainstream then it'll fully earn that title.

actually I think 7 is like ff7 and 13 will be like 13 (with chrom being the answer to lightning and undoubtedly apper in the next smash brothers for 3ds and wiiu

Well, if everyday newspapers are talking about the game, then I say it's got a good shot of being mainstreamed.

Just for the record for the TC, I'm a bit of a Fire Emblem vet, and I have to say Awakening is my favorite.

I would greatly enjoy an Awakening movie that features an extended battle sequence of Chrom duking it out with Future!Grima, who eventually laughs manically as the final sacrifice arrives at the table and he turns into full-blown Grima.
