Hello!

I just want to make sure...

I promote my class at Lv.20 then I can still go to level 20 in the promoted class, right?

So the cap level is Lv.20 in a "promoted" class?

Is it a must to reclass in Lunatic? I wish to only use the canon classes.

Not a must. You'll just probably get slaughtered if you don't on lunatic.

And you can reclass at level 20 to keep your class as a promoted unit. Of course, it's generally a bad idea because you don't get to gain new skills this way.

The game is structured around classes using the reclass feature. You can just hit max with say sword master and then reclass to sword master again, which sets your level to one again. You'll miss out on any number of good and useful skills, but it might be doable since you'd still get all the stats.

Yes. You can also do so at level 10.
A promoted class learns the final skill at level 15. Due to the way reclassing works, you want to second seal at level 16.
If you want to stay in the same class, just second seal into the same class at level 20.

For instance:
Mercenary --> level 20 --> master seal --> Warrior --> level 16 --> second seal ---> Hero
