The Fire Emblem

What was it in the games before 7? I know that the Emblem itself changes form and function between games.

Which raises another point. The Emblem itself takes on varying degrees of importance in each game. Here it gives Chrom power, in the Tellius games it holds a Dark God. Which game is it the least important in?

In 6 it was the part of the Sword of Seals' hilt needed to unlock its power.

In 4 and 5 it was the crest of House Velthomer(forgot how to spell this)

Don't think it appears in 2.

In 1 and 3 it's the Binding Shield that can seal Earth Dragons away, like Medeus.

Dark God? How would you like it if I called you a dark bag of organs?

It was useless in 7. It was barely mentioned and played no role in the overall story.

Kind of Ironic that the first Fire Emblem game released state side had nothing to do with its namesake

Oh, so sort of like this game's Emblem? Well I guess it would make sense since it's a sequel.

I think Gaiden is the only game that doesn't have a Fire Emblem. Of the games where it actually shows up, FE7 is probably the one where it's least important.

Not "sort of", the Fire Emblem in Awakening is the same Emblem from the FE1/FE2.

This game is a very distant direct(1000 ~ 2000 years) sequel to Marth's games, so the Emblem would have a similar purpose.

Also I'm surprised I actually got the Velthomer thing right, I'd say that one was definitely the most unimportant use of the Emblem. I don't remember it even being mentioned in the game itself.

I'd say the Jugdral Fire Emblem is perhaps the most useless. There seems to be no known purpose for it.

The Elibe Fire Emblem didn't have much to do with Blazing Sword, but it's true purpose was revealed in Sword of Seals.
