Avatar Logbook - what is it?

#1I_Play_RSPosted 3/25/2013 9:31:05 PM
What is the Avatar Logbook and what purpose does it serve?

Also, what does the term "MU" mean that I see getting thrown around here?

Thanks!

The logbook allows you to buy specific units (DLC, Spotpass, past Avatars) for in-game currency. It's essentially like recruiting them.

MU stands for "My Unit," or the Avatar/Robin.

It lets you store and recruit guest characters (MUs, Spotpass, DLC).

MU = My Unit. AKA Avatar/Robin.
Despite being the Japanese term, it's probably gonna stick, as "MU" is a lot easier type than "Avatar".

The Avatar Logbook can save your Avatar character from other files, and let you recruit them for a price. Say in your first playthrough you end up with a level 20 Swordmaster Avatar, you can buy that character in your next new game for a couple thousand gold. It can also save spotpass and DLC characters.

MU stands for "My Unit", the original Japanese title of the Avatar character.

Awesome, I didn't realize that the Logbook carried over through playthroughs.

You can't have multiple "versions" of the same character through, right?

If I end up with a level 20 Swordmaster Avatar on my 1st file and play through my 2nd file and end up with a level 20 GK I can't save both in the logbook, right? I'd have to choose one, right?

You could save both. IIRC, you can't have two with the same name, though.

Yes, you can if they are different genders.

Zelda is an ACTION-ADVENTURE, not an RPG!!!
Japan is the center of the gaming universe.

Or different Difficulty.
Or different Casual/Classic setting.
Or from a Different 3DS (Streetpass), And those can be... Different Renown Levels!

You can have up to 16 Native say... Robin(s).
8 Male (One each for Normal/Cas, Normal/Cla, Hard/Cas, Hard/Cla, Lunatic/Cas, Lunatic/Cla, Lunatic+/Cas, Lunatic+/Cla)
8 Female (Same)

Once Streetpass gets involved, though, things get a bit wonky.

You can have 20 Spotpaa/DLC/Streetpass/Past Avatars in your team

The Avatar Logbook stores 99 of these characters

There are over 120 Spotpass characters
17 DLC characters

So, you'll never be able to get them all, but the majority anyway
