If they made a Fire Emblem movie, how bad would it be?

VIN DIESEL as MARTH!

oh god my freaking sides, someone paint marth's armor and hair over vin diesel please.

also, i'm sure you could get a good story with lots of deaths by playing the game classic style, hard difficulty, no grinding, base class/no reclass only, permadeath

like the good ol' pokemon nuzlocke's. i'd watch that, and i'd cry.

Complete suck. There's no way they could compress the complex storylines and massive casts that Fire Emblem is famous for into 120 loosely-formatted pages (or even 360, for a trilogy). You might be able to do a good long-running TV series, though.

Well, except that everyone would claim it was ripping off A Game of Thrones.

Psh, Berserk was more Game of Thrones before Game of Thrones became popular. Personally I'm holding out for something akin to Berserk in terms of complexity and maturity.

I didn't say they'd be correct, I said they'd claim it.

As for complex and "mature" games, have you ever played Drakengard?

OK, this is the weirdest thing that'll ever happen in the FE franchise.

I'd rather see an anime/manga of FE13. Would be awesome.

Depends. All of the following is assuming it is a live action movie, and not a anime or CGI movie, because I feel like the latter two would probably be good easily.

If it is based off a game in the franchise, it would suck, as it could never hope to cover everything that goes on in the story, even if you ignore less significant events and characters (let alone the depth to those characters revealed in support conversations). The best they could do is an abridged retelling of a story in this case, but I feel like it will get a lot of hate no matter how they go about it... and no, a retelling of the story doesn't involve a new character that undermines every other character while covering canonical events, like the Resident Evil movies... that's like a bad fanfiction is what it is.

If it was a spinoff story that involved the main characters from one/multiple games from the franchise, I feel like it could be interesting as long as it doesn't try to rewrite canon (not counting character endings, but like events during the main stories)... kind of like with the DLC chapters... it'd be more of just for watching what the characters do and how they interact with others, as opposed to a masterpiece of a story.

If it was made without any references to current Fire Emblem characters, except maybe deities, I feel like while it would disappoint many fans, BUT at least it wouldn't have a stronger standard to live up to, and would probably end up as decent at worst (unless they really screw up with a badly created CGI dragon or something)... I feel like this would basically just be a fantasy medieval movie though, with minor FE references, so it wouldn't really be much of a FE movie.

I dunno, if u stick a few key chapters and leave the junk to the imagination, it could work

But the games format is warwarwar, I think to be a good movie, at least 1 third of it needs to be about heart...

And for that you will need to pick a mother for lucina .... who better than femvitar ?

In all seriousness, I would be genuinely interested in some kind of animated movie series. A series, because just one or two, in all likelihood, wouldn't do any game that it would be based on real justice.

I think I'd most want to see a series based on FE1 and Book 2 as introduced in FE3, and then the Tellius Saga.

It would have to be realistic. I want to see archers just standing when a guy with an axe attacks them.
