Will we ever get another Fire Emblem as strategic as FE7 or FE12?

Both of those games were masterpieces of the SRPG genre. Awakening is a good game in it's own way, but it brought the series in a totally different direction. The series needs to go back to its GBA roots or else it will just be another Disgaea.

We can definitely do this!

7/9/10 were the actual masterpieces. Other than that, i totally agree.

I love my Disgaea, but FE needs to stay FE. I'm hoping that development on the next title focuses more on excellent map design.

You do know the series' roots were on the Famicom, right? I understand what you mean, but you chose an inaccurate way of saying it.

Different character balance, no pair up, more interesting map design. No grinding.

I prefer some elements of the new, some of the old. I'd like to see an FE that goes map-to-map, but much longer, with time and options for catching up units, and as much if not more customization than Awakening.

I see Awakening as a first for Intelligent Systems. You know, a first for them. Kinda like PoR. If they don't fix some of the problems in the next games, then it'll be considered stagnating.
