I used a rescue staff on Anna and turtled at the beginning of the map to get kills. Unfortunately this meant I couldn't reach the thief in time, but meh, it's only an arms scroll.
The boss is hilarious; he doubles anyone that isn't Lon'qu, sumia, or chrom. Luckily he had no hit on Lon'qu, so Lon'qu actually avoid tank'd the top since there was only one myrm and everything else used an axe.
Took a few extra turns in this map so Anna could open all the items; I didn't have Gaius.

You know, since you are supposed to be running for your lives and the boss doesn't even move, why isn't this an "escape" map instead of "defeat commander"? How is Mustafa going to stop you when he has 0 move?
CHROM + 12
This is the first map since chapter 2 where I get to use a prepromote, namely Fred Gore. The funny thing is that he could still run up the middle and solo, but I should still try to maximize my exp. Mostly that Fred Gore will be pair up fodder instead of taking kills.
As I really want to get the items in this map, and Cordelia is my only flier for the map, she'll pair up with Fred Gore to chase down the thieves. Everyone else moves left, as the thieves all make their way to the top left corner, so the closest thieves can later be intercepted.
Cordelia with Fred Gore pairup can reach the second farthest thief on turn 1 and weaken it, so that my following crew on turn 2 could kill it before it got too far. Thankfully, the farthest thief doesn't move on turn 1, which gave me enough time for Cordelia to get in and kill that without having to chase it deep in enemy territory. The rest of my team goes up the second-alley on the left to intercept those earlier thieves, as well as kill the one Cordelia hit on turn 1. This brought them right next to the boss.
Now as the map is "kill commander" any efficiency run would just immediately kill the boss and ignore the reinforcements. Not this run though. I need the exp, so I wait out for reinforcements. I forgot that they came as wyverns, so I had a bunch of 7 move flying axemen chasing after me as I ran back south while the rest of the map chased me. What's important to do here is pick off the wyverns, as they are the ones who can fly around and focus fire the frailest unit. When the wyverns aren't around, the foot enemies can't gang up on someone.
after that is done, I take my time to get event tiles. Nowi kills the boss.
The javelin soldiers are the best; they have 14 att, which means they tink half my team and the only person who takes more than 5 damage is Maribelle. The steel axe fighters and wyverns are semi-threatening though, the wyverns moreso because they fly, as they have like 27 att.

It's okay Chrom, I'm purposely making you underleveled so I am allowed to use you in every map. Then again one wonders how you couldn't stop the archers that killed your pegs in the previous chapter, as they do like 10 damage to you.
BTW can someone tell me when nowi will get spd? Or what happened to Boobies' stats?

This map will be fun especially when Gangrel rushes.
There's also a hero who has 27 att/19 spd, but at least he doesn't have 1-2 range hitting res.
So Sumia did a ton of work here; I paired her up with fred gore so she could fly around and one round mages with a javelin. She solo'd the east mages while everyone else went west, so that I could deal with the reinforcements and the west enemies in waves instead of en masse.
Unfortunately once the map is clear and you aggro one of the enemies around Gangrel, everyone rushes, including Gangrel. I couldn't stop Kellam from getting killed unfortunately, although if I planned around it and had Sumia stomp all of the mages and chip at gangrel, I could've easily done it without any deaths, so meh.
As I had no thieves available, I had the thief open one of the chests so I could kill it and take the item, then I used a chest key to get the other.
Also, why the hell are chest and door keys not buyable?

also it seems like hard gives more gold than lunatic? I've sold my bullions and I have almost 30k gold. I don't ever remember being that rich on my lunatic run. Maybe I'll somehow be able to afford the 30+ master seals I need (and I'll have to be very careful how I spend it, as everyone will be promoting at the same time).
I also need to do some work for supports and stat booster distribution, but later.
On a side note, I need to figure out a good way to handle Olivia. The big purpose of this run is to constantly cycle units in and out of the team, but right now Olivia will remain the lowest level unit on my team for the entire game without any sort of level grinding. I think I'll handle her much like I did Libra and Anna except on the opposite end; her effective level becomes equal to the lowest level unit on my team when she joined. As the lowest level unit on my team when I started chapter 11 was Nowi at 8 (with some exp), her effective joining level will be 8.

As the entire map is literally knights or horses, hammers and ricken will be busy killing knights all day. I don't have beast killers though, but an enemy drops one. Aside from that, anyone that uses a lance is fine here as basically everything here is a sword or lance, guaranteeing at least neutral WT.
In any case, the point of the map as I see it is (aside from running up the middle with a god unit, which my team doesn't have) to kill the cavs in a timely matter as they will reach you before the knights do, while positioning 1-2 units to take some knight attacks to get extra damage in on enemy phase. If the cavs can't be killed that quickly, move around the terrain to manipulate the knights such that you can dodge them, as they only have 4 move.
Towards the end of the map though, too many cavs rush. Only the promoted ones pose a serious threat, but if someone is one rounding everything and isn't invincible it will invite more and more cavs to kill it, so just make sure no one that is tanking can one round and you can pick them off slowly.
Ricken now has WTF 15 def, so he outtanks everyone except Cherche, which is pretty hilarious. He came pretty handy as he was holding chokepoints just as well as anyone else, which is a surprise given how much flak I gave him earlier. He was also one rounding knights and did serious chip damage to the promoted enemies.
Also given how the map plays out, it's almost impossible to distribute kills evenly. Gaius and Lon'qu could never find an opportunity to safely attack because their partners were busy the whole map. Maribelle could never switch in because Ricken had to be attacking every turn.
After the boss rushes and dies, I leave 1 enemy alive and surround it, then go get the event tiles. In the meantime I do a little level grinding for Maribelle and Olivia.

Anyway, supports are not panning out as I initially thought, as it's actually quite difficult to get the planned pairs in play simultaneously. As such I'm building rather weird ones.

also after thinking about it, I should reclass lon'qu to wyvern now. The extra def will help and he's still pretty fast.

When you get greedy with trying to milk exp from reinforcements, the game has a tendency to say "LOLNO". Like in this map. I thought that the reinforcements from the south forts wouldn't be too bad (I didn't know what they spawned as I camped on them on my only runthrough), so I let them come out.
3 warriors popped out
Luckily they didn't have silver weapons like the first warrior that rushes you, but one had a short axe that OHKO'd Olivia. That wouldn't have been so bad until the next warrior ran in and one rounded Boobies. Who was paired with Kellam. Because she got doubled.
Also, because of the huge number of axe enemies, including the fact that the promoted enemies were mostly warriors, Gaius with Fred Gore pairup did a ton of work.
After you dick around at the south forts milking reinforcements, the rest of the map suddenly decides to rush you. This includes 2 longbow archers with 24 att and 2 silver bow snipers that have 32 att/18 spd, so the only unit those snipers don't 2round is Panne.
At that point no more reinforcements come and the boss doesn't move, so it's time to get event tiles and feed the boss to someone of my choice, which was Virion (so he stayed at about the same level as Panne).

this might be the only time Casual Mode has ever been used to make the game HARDER.
So now children paralogues can be unlocked now, and I can get Kjelle right away.
I was also thinking about how I could definitely run into money problems. My initial solution was to allow grinding in challenge maps, but only fielding units who are level capped (so they can't get exp), and put a cap on how many challenge maps can be done. As you lose weapon uses (and money) through the map too, the cap may be relatively high. While those units fielded still gain WEXP, that shouldn't be a significant problem, and maybe I'll field only units who capped weapon ranks anyway.
