Will canon marriages ever be revealed?

I am curious who the devs intended to be paired up in the first place. I hate playing God and matching up partners that are possibly terrible together.

If nothing is said what is the closest to canon I can get?

Nothing is canon. Arguably, Chrom x Sumia is the closest to canon you'll get.

No it isn't. I don't deserve to have power over who belongs with who.

Naga gave you the power by introducing time travel and alternate universes.
Do not simply disregard any gift from Naga.

Stahl and Sully is 2nd place due to their unique ending.

Otherwise it's basically open to interpretation. And better remain that way!

Well, I suppose you can think of it this way:
This game heavily emphasizes the concept of alternate universes. At any given point in history, any given decision that's made creates infinitely many more possibilities. Therefore, everyone's playthrough is canon in some in-game universe or another.

..I only say this because this game both has no established canon pairings (barring Chrom and Sumia) and because the alternate universe concept is such a big part of the plot.

I doubt they'll reveal canon marriages anytime because they never reveal canon marriages in almost all FE series except FE4/5 which has several canon marriages like Lief/Nanna, Levin/Fury, Sigurd/Diadora, etc which was due to Family Tree. If they release family tree for FE: Awakening, we'll know which one is canon marriage.

As for FE6, Pent/Louise and Barte/Karla are official canon marriages for obvious reasons. Will/Rebecca is probably canon marriage because Wolt inherited traits/genetic from both.

Of course, some of them are obvious canon marriages like Azel/Tiltyu, Ike/Soren, Nino/Jaffar, etc.

Only hard canon is Sumia x Chrom.

With so many marriage options it's much harder to narrow things down for Awakening than for say the GBA FE games which made it quite obvious what was canon. Ex. Farina x Hector, Seth x Eirika, Eliwood x Ninian, Rath x Lyn, and ect.
