My healers and mage types just get owned.

Force the enemy to come to you and fight your Defensive characters early on in the game.

Than finish them off on your turn.

Though don't put Freddy-Bear in the front.

He's an EXP whore outside the DLC.

Thanks! I may need to create a new thread for this since this is off topic but.. when should I pair up units? It seems more beneficial to have 2 unites rather than a 1.5 unit (when paired up)

Pair up whenever you can.

It's far better to have everyone paired up than not to.

Everyone should be paired up? Wouldn't that mean only half my guys would get xp though?

Better to have EXP gain focused than spread out.

Frederick is a good support partner early on as well.

I trained only half of my troops in the beginning of the game, and let the other half pair with them to boost their stats. They'll grow fast and really strong. Later on in the game you might find new characters that you like, and then it won't be so tough adding them to your team since you'll have such strong units already.

Yeah, I always use Frederick as a pair unit for the nice stat boosts.
