Does the parents level matter for the children stats?

I'm not worried about skills but do low leveled parents produce bad children?

if the parents stink, then the child's initial stats will be bad. but that's about it. in terms of min/maxing, the child should always be better.

Parent's stats only determine a child's starting stats. Their max stats will be the same regardless of a parent's level

Yes. Children's base stats are a function of their parents'. It's not a huge deal with the ability to grind, but if you aren't into that and want to use children from the get-go, you should probably make sure parents are promoted and have a few levels under their belt before starting the paralogue.

Level doesn't matter. Only the Raw stats.

The childrens' actual base stats = [(mother's current stats - mother's class base stats) + (father's current stats - father's class base stats) + child's absolute base stats] / 3 + child's class base stats

So the higher the stats on the parents, the higher the stats will be on the child when it is recruited.
