What is the best English Fire Emblem game?

I haven't really played any of them (besides the first one for the GBA) and want to start somewhere.

FE7(the first one on GBA), Path of Radiance on gamecube, and Awakening are usually considered the best.

These boards are a creature of Chaos, they may take many incarnations.

FE9, definitely. 10 is probably better, but playing 9 first is sort of necessary.

Why is it necessary? Are the plots related or something?

I don't feel like playing the whole series. I never beat the first Fire Emblem for GBA because it became cripplingly hard.

I played the demo for Awakening and really liked it because of all the "casual" options they added like increased movement speed/saving anywhere/your characters don't die forever if you make a mistake. I miss the god-like animations from the GBA games though.

FE10 is a direct sequel to FE9.

If you found FE7 too hard, then FE9 will be good for you because the US version is very easy. FFE10 is a bit harder because of its backwards difficulty curve, but it's still not that bad.

I'm apparently the world's best wingman, according to Westbrick.
