Are pre-promotes decent in this game?

I looked at Frederick's growth rates and they appear more or less identical to Sully's. So can you just use a second seal on him whenever you get one, or will his base stats be too low? How about other prepromotes like um... the girlie guy. Wow, that aren't a lot of pre-promotes in this game.

Prepromotes are your best units. Always. More than anyone!

Fred is bad because he has terrible bases for a LV1 Paladin

Libra is decent, he's the best War Cleric out of the default Healers (Lissa/Maribelle/Libra) and is pretty strong when he joins you.

Anna is considered a top-tier utility unit, but not that great outside of that.

Say'ri is boring and joins in a mediocre class

Prepromotes in pretty much every FE games are strong. Frederick is useful throughout the whole game. Granted, Sully/Stahl/Crew outshine him way later on; however, the starting chapters are always the hardest.

I made a post about Libra awhile ago.

He comes prepromoted, carrying a killer axe, mend, ward, and concoction to your army. He has C rank in both axes and staves; thus, he has access to 1-2 range Hand Axes right away. Being prepromoted typically means you have lower stats, but not this guy. Even on his lowest bases in normal mode, he's coming out with 38 base health along with 11 Def and 16 Res to back it. Outmaneuvering most of your team with an addition movement speed at 6, you must expect him to be weaker. But, with those axes and base strength of 14, he's doing tons of damage. Even taking just a steel axes (since axes are available readily with only Frederick and Vaike using them), he'll have a total power of 25--that's not even factoring in beneficial pair ups. So he has tank stats and killer offense, but that doesn't slow him down at all. He's hauling ass with 13 speed--which is higher than Cordelia's base speed without her skill perk. Again, this isn't factoring whoever wants a piggyback ride from the badassest unit in your army.

Must be hard to recruit. Wrong. He does that **** for you.

They're all pretty bad at anything but healing or being pair-up bots.

For ingame they're definitely viable, and for postgame nothing really matters except the children anyway.

Frederick is extremely simmilar to Jeigan himself, as in he actually falls off, and relies on Horseslayer for his late game usefulness

Libra is a worse Pent

Anna is Thief version of Libra who supports Tiki

Say'ri has pretty cool base stats, but is killed by her lack of supports. As it is, she is a solid Pair Up Bot for Tiki

Finally, if she counts, Tiki is basically the kind of unit who joined very late, but is extremely powerful, think Athos.

The spotpass are gimmicks >_>

If you plan to use them for late game, Frederick heavily relies on grinding(and you shouldn't. Childrens exist), Libra and Anna can spam Rescue, Say'ri needs grinding as well, while Tiki is good right off the bat

Can Libra replace Lissa entirely?

1. Frederick lasts the whole game, even Lunatic

2. Libra comes in Chapter 9 as one of a top tier units. Pent comes in Chapter 24

No comment on Anna/Tiki. I don't see them as particularly strong units in game. Both paralogues are kinda out of the way without major benefits.

Sure Libra can replace, but Libra pretty much earns a spot on your team if you want someone who can deal damage, tank hits, and/or heal.

Tiki's never seemed especially strong to me.
