How do I beat Chapter 1 on Lunatic Mode?

#1Brave_PiratePosted 9/11/2013 9:18:16 AM
So I'm doing a Classic playthrough on Lunatic Mode, and I really want to clear this, land on both event tiles, and not lose any units. I have tried several strategies, and something always goes wrong at one point or another. I feel like a lot of this chapter boils down to luck, but does anyone have any suggestions as to what I could do here? My characters' stats are below:

Chrom LV 1
HP 20
Str 7
Mag 1
Skill 8
Spd 8
Lck 5
Def 7
Res 1

My Unit LV 3
HP 21
Str 7
Mag 5
Skill 8
Spd 7
Lck 4
Def 7
Res 4

Frederick LV 1
HP 28
Str 13
Mag 2
Skill 12
Spd 10
Lck 6
Def 14
Res 3

Lissa LV 1
HP 17
Str 1
Mag 6
Skill 4
Spd 4
Lck 8
Def 3
Res 4

Sully and Virion come with default stats. If my characters are considered really bad, should I just restart my save file? Thanks in advance for all your help.

You want 8 speed and 11 defense on your avatar

edit, from the prologue

Well first you train MU, then you split all your enemies skulls in half with karate chops. MU will eat cereal out of the bowl of their skull and floss his/her teeth with their spine.

If you're doing no grind, definitely redo the prologue for a better avatar.

If you plan on grinding, Frederick can solo the first four chapters. It's a bit difficult, but very possible.

Get chrom paired with Frederick, this gives an awesome speed boost to assist with dodging. Get virion's elixir to Fred, then you charge out. You can also abuse MU with soliditary to give +10 crit and dodge to adjacent units.

Ugh, it didn't even occur to me to pair Chrom with Frederick until I saw that video. I finally beat this chapter (although it took some luck have Frederick avoid the Hammer), and I didn't have to restart my game! Let's just hope I can last the rest of the game with my units the way they are. I really don't want to rely on Frederick too much in the long run! I plan on participating in skirmishes as they appear, but I won't do any extended grinding.
