Question about the opening movie for Chapter 6 *Spoilers*

#1mattrixoPosted 4/7/2014 6:02:10 AM
During this sequence "Marth" claims that they arrived to save Chrom's life from assassins.

How can this be? We know that Marth was never going to die here because in the future he was killed by the Avatar so he couldn't have died here.

Did "Marth" lie? My first instinct is that they lied about the danger posed by the threat and the assassins wouldn't have taken Chrom's life even without "Marth's" intervention, but it's also possible that they lied about having knowledge of these particular assassins. We're told later that "Marth's" main reason for showing up was to save Emmeryn's life, so it's possible that "Marth" simply detected the assassins before Chrom and used them as a means to convince Chrom of the knowledge they possessed.

Any other ideas about this?

What?

Marth wasn't killed by Robin in fact they weren't even born at that time

Marth only knows this because Of the rumors in the Future.

Typo.
They meant Chrom.

And that's explained. [On Ch 14, IIRC] The assassins wouldn't have killed him.
They would've maimed him,

"Marth" never said anything about saving Chrom's life in the japanese version, (in the bad future he is severely wounded.) the localization changed the wording due to matching the animation to the voice acting.

Oh a typo then.

But yeah he was injured and it's heavily speculated that it left him with a limp. The premonition sorta hints at this when he's struggling to get up after being slammed into a wall by magic.

(Although he could be fatigued also)
