My party was Tidus-Auron-Wakka-Yuna.

Nah. I think everyone probably used the guys whose ultimate weapons they could unlock. For me that was Auron, Rikku, Yuna and - somehow - Lulu (I spent most of an evening dodging lightning). Couldn't do the chasing butterflies thing for Kimahri's quickly enough. Plus Auron was way cooler anyway.

You do have to develop him, though, because he has a compulsory solo battle towards the end of the main game that could be tricky if you've not used him at all.

nope never used him i always used Yuna, Auron, Tidus.

I'm starting to feel like such a weirdo because everyone seems to have main teams but I don't. I always rotate people out so they're all developing at a similar rate. So yeah, he was in my team with relative frequency, just as frequently as anyone else.

Even before i knew that he had a solo fight in the game i still made sure to level him up properly. He was one of two characters whose weapons could do massive damage to any non magic monster. I also was taught to always level up everybody.
