Metal Gear Solid HD Collection

MGS 2 & 3 & PW can be bought on disc for ps3 correct? but not MPO?
Can PW & MPO be downloaded unto the ps3 and be played on a normal TV?

The psp can use the physical disc of PW & MPO right?
But can the psp play the downloaded PW & MPO?

The vita does NOT have a physical PW & MPO yes?
But can the vita play a downloaded PW & MPO? And are both games the same version as the older psp version?

Ideally, I'd like to own equivalent copies of both MPO+PW on a single handheld...best way to do this?

I already have a ps3 but no portable device.

If I didn't want to shell out the extra money for a vita, is the psp 3000 the best way to go (download or UMD)?

MGS2, 3 and PW can be bought on disc for PS3 in a HD collection. (there are separate digital copies coming out soon along with a full collection)
MPO is a PSP game, it cannot be played on PS3
Only PW can be played on a PS3 since it's in the HD collection (can't play the PSP version on PS3)

The PSP can play the UMD copies of PW and MPO.
The PSP can also play the digital copies.

You cannot play UMD on Vita so no, it cannot play the physical copy of PW and MPO
Depend on region. If you're EU then you can download and play both PW and MPO on your Vita.
If you're US you can only play PW but MPO is not currently compatible. (don't ask why I don't know)

The digital copies are exactly the same.

If you're EU you can download and play the digital copy on a Vita and play them both on there (along with MGS2+3 and Metal Gear1+2)

If you're US then you can only currently play both on PSP BUT MPO should be available to play on Vita at some point.

The playstation website says MPO is only UMD right now for psp, your confirming that info is NOT valid? (FF8 isn't even on the list having just looked, so I'm inclined to say the website is wrong too)

The Vita can play digital PSP games right? How about the psone classics?

Vita can play digital PSP games. There is a digital release of MPO but the US version doesn't work with Vita (EU does though)

PS1 support isn't available on Vita yet but will come with patch 1.80.

MGS:PO is available for download on PSN for PSP. You can check it yourself. What Playstations website site says and whats really on PSN can be different at times.

I have all the MGS games including the HD collections for both Vita and PS3, and ideally you'll want to get the PS3 HD collection and download PO separately on your Vita.

If I may be so bold to ask of you the current price of MPO & PW from the PSN?

I have no other way of getting that information right now, both ebay & amazon want $80 plus for a new copy of MPO! I suppose I don't have a choice but to download.

psOne classics will be patched in with firmware 1.8 for the vita. should be sometime before end of summer they are saying.
