i don't get it, why rachel?

For someone who has never played any of the ninja gaiden games, why rachel? Wouldn't Momji be a perfect character to play as in the psp port? Or is it maybe both ayame and momji would have the same moveset? Sorry if this sounds like a dumb question.

Why Momiji? What's wrong with Rachel?

And maybe cos KOEI just wants Rachel instead of Momiji. Rachel has been playable twice, Momiji once.

Ayane and Momiji had different play styles. Ayane had the Fuma Kodachi, and Momiji had the Heavenly Dragon Naginata.

Chances are they wanted to go with someone more modern in personality, since Momiji, Ryu and ayane fall under the trap of "I'm from modern times, but i think and act like its the dark ages".

Rachel is the most modern and 'high tech' of all the NG characters due to her use of a large hammer and a machine gun, adding her would bring more diversity than Momiji, since Momiji would just be "another generic female asian character", where as Rachel fills out the Japanese love for Blond Haired blue eyed 'exotic' character.

that and Ryu uses Momijis Signature Ninpo skill as his R1 in WO3, so even if they did add her, shed be lacking her most powerful attack due to Ryu having it.

I would have liked Momiji more though. Plus she appeared in Strikeforce. Very, very briefly.

Actually, Ryu uses The Art of the Inferno.

Momiji uses The Art of the Crimson Lotus.

cos tecmo knows more than anyone SEX sells. momiji didnt have provocative outfits like rachel did. auto disqualification. rachel will sucker in more of the "fanboys" into buying the game a second time on psp, if they keep her exclusive.

Correction: Art of the Inferno is a single flaming projectile attack which shoots forward to take out groups of enemies that are only directly in front of you. The animation for it is similar to Street Fighter Ryus Hadoken attack animation, putting both hands together, pulling them off to the side, then thrusting both hands forward and summoning a large fireball.

Art of the Crimson Lotus shoots out multiple fire balls which fly off in different directions homing in on enemies

his R1 is Art of the Crimson Lotus.

No.

Play NG2/NGS2 and then try to prove me wrong.

I don't have too because i already know im right. You ever bother to pay attention to the attack animations, or even read the descriptions?

NGS2 Description of Art of Inferno
This ninpo uses the power of telekinesis to hurl a flaming mass of pyrokinetic energy at a desired target.
The Art of the Inferno is highly effective against enemies in front of the caster. Those unlucky enough to fall victim to this ninpo are completely engulfed in flame. The fire it unleashes is no ordinary flame; akin to the flame of a Dragon’s breath, it is no surprise that records fail to mention anyone surviving the intense heat of the Inferno.

NGS2 Description of Art of Crimson Lotus
Gesturing the characters “rin,” “byo,” “to,” “sha,” “kai,” “jin,” “retsu,” “zai,” and “zen” in sequence activates the spell, transforming the leaves dancing within the magic circle into an inferno of fireballs that incinerate and consume all enemies in their path. The divine flames burn only the wicked, leaving those pure of heart unscathed.

Art of Inferno only strikes enemies directly infront of the player, Crimson Lotus srikes enemies from multiple angles.

Ryu uses he Art of Crimson Lotus in WO3, possibly as a reference to Momiji's appearance in NGS2.
