Fallen DeathPosted 5/8/2012 7:55:31 PM | I just recently made it here with Vergil and am stuck on how to get past. On my second try I was able to take out the queen but have bishops, rooks and knights. All over the place then there's the king who keeps moving around and am unable to hit him. Was wondering if there's any good ways to deal with this battle quickly? --- "Dreams that lie between life and death... they are eternal" |
little_whiskersPosted 5/8/2012 11:03:59 PM | with vergil...ugh those chess pieces suck on must die mode...i did the opposite approach. i took out all the pieces except the king last. if you beat very hard mode you can use super vergil if you are stuck and just flat out use aggression. --- PSN: pillowpants41 logic > faith |
Burst_StreamPosted 5/8/2012 11:21:36 PM | Spam Holy Water or bring a lot of Vital Star Ls. I used about 7 on that place alone. Use Super as well helps a lot. --- PSN: TekkenSushiEXE Dark Souls: SL 125, SL 120 (main), SL 1 |
Fallen Death (Topic Creator) Posted 5/9/2012 1:00:36 AM | Was able to beat it took out the queen first then followed the king around as super. Then took him out with beowulf, was thinking of maybe spamming holy water on the second part of the arkham fight since it's a pain. --- "Dreams that lie between life and death... they are eternal" |
yarrmateysPosted 5/9/2012 7:39:29 AM | For the second part of the Arkham fight, when there are the legions around, just run around in the biggest possible circle you can (do not double back) and spam Summoned Swords without locking on. Since the swords appear a bit behind you, they will hit the legions and eventually clear them all, although it's a bit slow. 100% safe though, and doing it still gives you an S rank in time.
Alternatively, you can just do Rapid Slash + spam swords. You'll get hit once in a while though.
For Arkham himself, always stand a good distance away from him and use lock-on + forward + guns, so the red Vergil will do Rapid Slash. Always stand on the edge of the arena, when he walks towards you just run away and put a good distance between you and him. You can also do Round Trips in between, J. Cuts when you feel like being risky and get a bit close.
When he turns yellow and launches those eel missiles, do full single jumps in one direction. Do not double back, do not roll, do not do weak little hops.
For the chessboard, killing the King with DT Starfalls was the right strategy. Or rather there is no strategy, there is only reaction and evasion of all the crap that's going on, and doing Starfalls when there's an opening. You could've made your life easier though by not killing the queen and just going for the king immediately. --- -- - |
frozentunaPosted 5/9/2012 8:21:46 PM | On DMD, try not to attack any other pieces other than the king. A non-DT'd king is much easier to destroy. |
ACHEEKSMALLOYPosted 5/10/2012 9:48:51 AM | Try to kill the king first since he can spawn in the knights who can then turn into tougher enemies --- Gamertag: ALMIGHTY CHEEKS http://img88.imageshack.us/img88/3715/cwfcollage.jpg |
Gojira346Posted 5/10/2012 3:49:13 PM | On the chessboard as either character on dmd I've always killer bee'd/starfalled the king while he's inactive to stay safe in the air....
Until he's active. Then I hold lock on and chase him down for dear life.
It may be good to kill all the pawns though so that they don't reach the other side of the board. Just move every 3 seconds. The queen is coming every 3 seconds. --- If it swims in the air/fire/etc., it's weakness is Fire. Or Dragon. singleplayermode.com visit us! |
Burst_StreamPosted 5/10/2012 4:02:26 PM | For Dante use Quicksilver when the King becomes active, Killer Bee JC. For Vergil, not much you can do just rush the King with Starfall JC. --- PSN: TekkenSushiEXE Dark Souls: SL 125, SL 120 (main), SL 1 |
Fallen Death (Topic Creator) Posted 5/10/2012 6:00:03 PM | Since I already finished DMD with Vergil I was wondering if it be worth it to get both Super Dante & Super Sparda? --- "Dreams that lie between life and death... they are eternal" |
