i don't have that much skills unlocked yet (except for Erza who has 5 so far), but i realized that pretty much everything (with the exception of those huge monsters (that i really dislike)) fell quite fast to Grey's Ice Maker: Hammer. it also sometime freeze the enemy which i find great. --- Your dad's a XX (chome-chome) - Terakado Otsuu | |
I find Juvia's Water Lock extremely useful for dealing with monsters. It has like a 75% chance of trapping the enemy in a water bubble and when someone is trapped they cannot perform offensive moves and, because monsters are all about offense, it's perfect to use against them. It it, however, not very useful against human opponents since they constantly defend while in the water bubble and some super powerful monsters (such as Igneel and Dorma Anim) can still attack while in the water bubble. Against such characters I prefer to use Lyon's Ice-Make: Eagle. It's range is great, it's damage is fair and it has a chance of freezing the target. --- Cats are the absolute creatures in this world. I go with natsu's guren karyuu ken (did I get it right? it's his last skill). I always go for a sink-or-swim hit. Hahaha it's infuriating if it missed but it's so relieving if it hit (especially when I do that last SS mission with a 40000J reward). Although I'm sure there are other better ways with dealing them, but I find it challenging that way. Have to sharpen my skills just to finished that mission. | |
Oh yeah, since we're talking about skills, I just want to share some bugs I found while playing the game, (not sure if it was). First bug I got was with Gajeel. The first skill that I bought for him was his 7~ vp skill, the square-triangle-square-triangle-square-triangle skill. Well, at first I was unable to do it because Gajeel, playing him as my main, won't cast his circle skill. Funny because that was supposed to be a default skill, like natsu's. But when I bring Gajeel as a party member, I was mesmerized that the AI can perform it perfectly well. That's not the end of it, since the good side of the bug was that playing as Gajeel, I could perfom his Tetsuryuu no Houkko (his dragonbreath skill) while holding down square despite the fact I haven't both the skill yet. And throughout the quests I brought Gajeel as a member, he never once casted his dragonbreath skill (until I bought it). Everything went to normal when I bought his dragonbreath skill. The next bug I have is with Erza. I still don't understand his skills. Apparently, you can cast two skills (am i right) while in one of her ex-quip armors. The only armor whose skills were completed was her flight armor. So her two skills go like this. One is square square triangle, while the second is square square square triangle. Funny though, I tried it with her other armors and I was surprised that I was able to do two skills, despite not yet having bought it. Because of that, I don't feel like buying her last skills for her other armor since I was able to perform it. Or is there something else beside that that I haven't noticed. Anyways, if there is a Erza-player out there who manages to understand all of her skills, can you help enlighten me? | |
i think the CPU has all the skills unlocked. My Wendy doesn't have her healing skill yet and the CPU is using it all the time. Same with Levy. As for Erza's skills, it looks like buying the armor allows the use of all the skills attached to it, even those that you would need to buy seperately. Beside completing the encyclopedia, there might be a trophy for buying all skills for every chars. i'm trying to get every skill for her, but i'm currently stuck at the fight against Gildarts, because the game won't let select/use Happy. --- Your dad's a XX (chome-chome) - Terakado Otsuu | |
does anyone know how to use Erza's squ squ squ triangle skills? I kept pressing it in that order whilst ex-quip with something, and I have bought the skill already, she would always just do the squ squ triangle move instead... is it a precise timing thng etc? I can get Grey to do have hammer and giant spike thing just fine which is the same button press | |
just press the three square + triangle as fast as possible. works fine for me. doesn't seem like you have to time the button with the animation. --- Your dad's a XX (chome-chome) - Terakado Otsuu | |
i was being stupid! i have been using the square x 3 triangle move all these times! Since I didn't buy it, i assumed she didn't know it. Pressing square twice then triangle now does the other move!! The heaven wheel armour is by far the best if you just want to cut something up.. no need to use any special move, just press squares and dodge when needed, it turns her into a dual sword welding maniac who can fill the spec gauge up like mad.. most of her special moves are too slow, but as a close range fighter, very good. Erza is very bad vs stuff you don't want to get close though.. like those sand worms and big thunder ghost things.. great vs boss monsters | |
I'd like to update my favourite skill. It's now Mystogan's Gen Mukyou. It's a lot better than Juvia's Water Lock because it makes the target's attacks damage their own allies instead of me (although they seem to attack randomly). have to give that a try. Only just unlock him and gone in SS rank.. when you fight multiple big monsters a lot.. I am being cheap and just water lock them when I am collecting stuff to make lv5 costumes, then just let Raxus and Grey pummel them... if I can make them kill each other, that would be fun. I didn't even know there is a 'confuse' status. |
