How can i make this game easier

I haven't played a baseball game in a long time. I suck at this game, but I enjoy it. How can I tweak the settings to make this game easier until I can get a hang at it. I'm OK at pitching, but suck at batting.

Adjust sliders
Go to Rookie
Use Default guess pitch, DO NOT USE guess 1/4 (theres a topic on the show ps3 board explaining why)
