ChesuPosted 6/17/2012 4:45:51 AM | Shizune, why you so hard to court?
On my first playthrough, I asked about the library at lunch (asking about the deafness seemed rude), went defensive with Risk, told Kenji that Hanako was cute, and sided with Lilly in the cold war. I knew that this was the anti-Shizune answer, but I wanted to go with what I personally thought was right. The text afterward suggested that Shizune's route was inaccessible now, however, so I loaded my save and took the other choice. Meanwhile, I really was concerned with Hisao's health, so had him do morning runs with Emi... and for whatever reason, decided to have him keep up with her, causing an episode with his heart. I can only assume that this is the flag for Emi's route, as not long after that's where the narrative inescapably placed me.
After completing Emi's story I started over, choosing the opposite of what I had before (except that I sided with Shizune again, as I still wanted her route), which eventually lead to a shopping scene with Lilly that I hadn't gotten before. I have no idea what triggered it, or if it's replacing anything, but the flow of events ended with me having a choice to express interest in the art club, or to say that I just kind of stuck around Rin for no reason. I put a save point here and chose the art club option, then saved to a new state once I was officially on Rin's route and returned to the choice.
Turning away from Rin's route, hoping to find a thread of Shizune's, the day of the festival arrives... and I'm forced to tell Kenji that I have no plans. Hisao repeatedly calls himself a failure. I'm pretty sure this is a "lost your chance with all the girls" kind of thing, but decide to push on, to see what happens. The first thing that catches my attention is Hisao saying that he should avoid Shizune and Misha, as he left them alone in planning the festival. Wait, what? No! I'm actively trying to get on Shizune's route! The only choice I've had pertaining to the festival before now was between taking Lilly's side in the Cold War or saying that I had already done enough... Ugh, is there a completely unrelated flag I need to trigger to get into the student council or something? Bah.
I'm not actually asking for help, mind you, just ranting. After playing Rin's (and apparently Kenji's... T_T) routes, I'm going to see what taking Lilly's side does. --- "Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind." -Theodor Geisel (Dr. Seuss) |

was trying to get her since my first playthrough but only got her route on the 4th. (Emi, Lilly and Manly Picnic before her) |

MechafanboyPosted 6/18/2012 7:03:55 AM | Ha, I only personally had trouble with Rin and I believe that was partially because I did Rin's route last and Emi's Route first so I was quite confused as to when the split between Emi and Rin happened.
That said, it's generally really easy to hit any one archetype of person (i.e tsundere, loli, silent, etc) as long as you choose choices that are indicative of their normal personality types. Imo, blind first runs where you go with the answers you would give in real life are the most interesting. --- http://altogether.insani.org -> Visual novel goodness Maaya Sakamoto and Younha are amazing~ <3 <3 |
