Price

Just wondering if anyone knows whether the price of this game will be a psn price or a retail price since it's retail in Japan but psn only in US/EU

$30 is still overpriced. This looks like a glorified iphone game from the vids i saw. And considering they are releasing digitally, they could have easily reduced this to a more reasonable price of $14.99 or lower.

i'll definetly wait till i play a demo before i even consider buying this. Its a shame though since i want more rpgs on psn, and Rainbow Moon was a great example of the right price point for a digital release.

Rainbow Moon was a game designed and released specifically for PSN. This game was a retail release in Japan, but is going to be digitally released in the US. I think $30 is a perfect price for something like that, no matter what the game looks like, when the game probably would've been $50 if it came out on disc here.

It doesn't matter if something was produced for psn or not. This game just doesn't look anything close to being worth the money. If low budget PSN games beat you, you have a BIG problem. And the only way to go against that would be to lower the price. But as it is it's way too expensive. If you don't know if this game is absolutely for you and you want to absolutely have this and nothing else.. then you'll probably not buy it.

The price isn't everything of course. A game needs to be good as well. The already mentioned Rainbow Moon has a problem exactly there. (It doesn't stand out. At all.) But it still helps a lot. And honestly.. I doubt Legasista will feature super awesome gameplay. It's probably alright or maybe even good. But that should be about it.

I don't know what type of game you actually think would be worth the money, but I think that a $30 price tag is a bargain for the game. Graphically this may not seem great, but from everything I've read and seen about it this game has more depth than a lot of games out there.

People have different opinions on tastes on what they look for in a game. For all the customization and depth, this game is near the top of the list for games I'm looking forward too.

There are plenty of people who love Uncharted 2. I picked that game up as part of a buy 2 get one free deal, and even though I consider it my free game, it was my worst purchase ever for the PS3 (next to the Angry Birds mini for a buck). That game had amazing graphics, but I could not stand it. I didn't feel like I was even playing a game.

If you don't think it is worth it, why are you posting on this board if you don't have anything productive to add to the conversation.

I'm not talking about my own decision on buying it or not. I know about the game. I'll inform myself about it and then decide.

It's about the big picture. It looks so unimpressive that most people just keep walking (or.. browsing) when seeing the price tag. They might not even bother with a demo.. if there even is one. And that's a major problem. Graphics isn't the only reason. It's the whole package. It's "just" a dungeon crawler, with randomly created dungeons even. If you compare that with Rainbow Moon, who has a big and unique world to explore, also tons of content (they talk about 100hours) and quite a bit of customization as well.. well yeah. 13 Euro. Legasista costs 30.

It's a shame really, I think Legasista could do really well with a smaller price tag. But like it is, most won't give it a chance. Rainbow Moon isn't even a very good game. I mean come on, a strategy rpg, where the best boss strategy is to keep reloading until the boss spawns so far away from you that you can buff yourself up safely.. it can't be that good. It's a grinding game, with a unique and relatively big world to explore.
MasterVG782Posted 8/7/2012 10:17:17 AM
Rainbow Moon was advertised as a grinding game through and through by its developers, so people who complain about the grinding knew what they were getting into.

This game hasn't really gotten any advertising outside of Japan, which isn't surprising, considering the company behind releasing it (at least outside of its reveal of coming to the west).

Don't forget that we PLAY games and if they're fun, then that's all that matters. Graphics ENHANCE a game, but they don't make a game that plays bad great. If we cared about graphics that much, then people wouldn't still be playing old school games.
