That's all Fine, but naughty dog is not using the most appropriate term themselves then. Probably infected is just easier to say... But the medical definition of infested is:

infestation [in″fes-ta´shun] parasitic attack or subsistence on the skin and/or its appendages, as by insects, mites, or ticks; sometimes used to denote parasitic invasion of the organs and tissues, as by helminths.

Idk like I said, both are technically correct, but I think infested hits the nail more squarely on the head.

I think that definition is flawed because cordiceps are fungi. It's not an infestation, I think it's more of at molecular level.
