We don't know.

I'd like to think so.

It looks like it. That's the problem with the ending. There's no closure. What happens next? It needs to be addressed. They went through hell and back together, and then we get that as an ending? No. I need some closure.

i don't mind having no closure, it makes anything you could imagine happening next valid

although if there's a sequel continuing the story you'll find out eventually

I like it left open, personally. It encourages you to keep thinking about the themes.

Agree with you...... I hope they make TLOU 2 and Ellie still be a main character

You don't need closure for it to be an ending, at least that's what I think. At least its thought provoking enough to get you to *GASP* actually think about the next possibilities instead of having everything being spoon fed to you.

The ending is perfect the way it is. I hope they don't continue Joel and Ellie's story in a TLOU 2, mainly because it will disvalue the whole point of ending it ambiguously.

Thankfully, they have said that Joel and Ellie's story is over. Now, whether or not they stick with that statement remains to be seen. Here's to hoping that it does remain true, and if there is a sequel, it has nothing to do with them whatsoever.
