the light. even with the brightness turned all the way down it still seemed that the flashlight and "savepoint" lights were just too damn bright. I could barely ever read the wall scribblings that only showed up in the light and it made it too hard to see anything when in enclosed areas due to the extreme brightness. I hope they toned it down a bit in this game.

Odd, I never encountered this problem. Are you sure it's not just your TV? Or perhaps you have the gamma up too high (I forget does Alan Wake have a gamma setting?

I'll take Call of C'thulhu, Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines, Deadly Premonition or Nier over the average game any day. I like hybrid games, what can I say?

it's not the TV cause I've played it on multiple TVs (SD, ED, and HD) and it's still a problem. and I don't think it has a gamma setting, just brightness which is all the way down.

I didn't have any problems like this, except where the lights were intentionally oversaturated.
