I just read that only "warlords" can achieve a perfect link. And I assumed that if I could check their profile in the info menu, that meant that they were a warlord.
However, I have a unit now who's profile I CAN'T check, yet I linked a magikarp to him, achieving a perfect link.
Is he actually a warlord? How can I tell?
On another note, I'm enjoying the game quite a bit. I was expecting something much easier, and while the AI is rather exploitable and the mechanics are simplified, there's still a surprising amount of depth. --- http://img638.imageshack.us/img638/9528/1293759393055.gif
Warlords have unique sprites and unique dialog, warriors share their sprites and dialog with other warriors. That's the only way I've found to tell them apart so far. --- ...I don't go down. - Jeod_Cripto Bull****. Everyone goes down sometimes. - Immortal_Azrael
Warriors can also get perfect links in the same way a warlord can.
Basically the biggest difference is that you will never see duplicates of a warlords face. If you ever see the same guys face on more than one name, they're a warrior. --- Don't forget to check out my MegaTen themed webcomics at http://www.drunkduck.com/user/Strain42/
I think this game confuses you with warriors and warlords, but the way I see it is that they're all warriors. A warlord is the person in charge of an area. Even the manual calls the warlords "special warriors".
Anyways, everybody has a perfect link Pokemon. You can tell if the person is a warlord/special warrior by looking at the color of the background where their Pokemon is next to their face. If it's gray they're normal, if it's gold/bronze they're special.
EDIT: also you can tell if there's a warlord in the area by looking at the little person icon, it should be gold instead of gray. --- Forever thankful of the people at http://mother3.fobby.net
