Questions, now that it's out and some madman has probably beaten it already.

I've already expressed my dislike for the Real Robot-focused plot and most Real Robots in general, so let's just more on from that before anyone gets upset or a flame war breaks out.

Besides, I intended this topic mainly to seek gameplay information, not story information.

Well, okay, one more story question, because it's something that's bugging me. How is it that all the people in the Real Robot stories still have time and resources to fight amongst themselves when there's Damons, Invaders, Kikaiju, Mugann, Heterodynes, Vajra, Gishin Soldiers, and God only knows what else flying around and blowing stuff up, not to mention THE MOON FALLING OUT OF THE SKY?

Okay, now that I got that off my chest, we can move on.

You know... I actually think I'm running out of questions to ask.

Uhhh... have any new secrets been discovered since the last time I asked about it? I'm honestly wondering if there's a way to keep the Tower, and perhaps get Gunleon and Virgola Glory back sooner. Seems odd that those two would only be available for such a short time.

And of course, to save as many people who canonically died as possible.

Plot, mostly.

Otherwise... It's not as if they ever seem to bother fighting anyone other than you. No matter that their backstory suggests that's what's happening, it never seems to actually happen. They never do anything significant that doesn't involve the players.

In Macross, that was pretty much the plot, anyway. Everyone on Earth pretty much entirely ignored the Zentradi, since the Zentradi just wanted the Macross, and weren't making any trouble for anyone else, to the point where the average human hardly even knew they existed. Then 99% of the human race was exterminated.

Heterodynes are essentially wild beasts, huge or not. Mugann... Do the Mugann ever appear outside of the Dark Continent in Saisei-hen? Did the Beastmen make any trouble for the humans outside of the Dark Continent in Hakai-hen? Did the Gishin ever try to do anything other than try to destroy Godmars? (though, yes, world-shattering bomb is sort of important like that) Do Dr. Hell's Kikaiju ever do anything but try to defeat Mazinger Z and steal Photon Power? Do Kikaiju, Gishin, Vajra and Heterodynes even attack anything that's not their series main focus, in their own series? For the Kikiaiju, they try to lure Mazinger Z by attacking other cities in one episode, but that's all - and never bother attacking Atami City when Mazinger Z goes to Germany! The Vajra only attack Macross Frontier and Macross Galaxy, and are otherwise entirely unknown.

There are plenty of wars happening in the world, right now, and I doubt most of the people know or care about them. Without some immediacy, the average human can be quite insular and apathetic to the plights of others.

The Moon falling would be considered "immediate," but propaganda helps clear that up.

Speaking of the Moon falling, does anyone have a hard time looking at that thing without cracking up? I mean, it has that huge pumpkin grin.

*shrug* Yes, but at that point, Lelouch, A-Laws and ZEXIS are the only world powers left. In the ZEXIS route, it's just the UFN, who essentially rules the entire Earth Sphere by this point, (assuming that I understand what's going on well enough) and Ribbon's last stronghold, IIRC. So the entire world government IS doing something without in-fighting... Sending ZEXIS in to take care of it.

Quick question, how did they explain Michel survival here?

I mean I saw his death scene and I was like, what, no chance of saving him this time?
Then all of a sudden next stage he's back and saves Klan

So what happened exactly?

If I recall correctly, the beastmen attacked one of Sheryl's concerts (though Team Gurren was in the audience), and for some reason, you fought Thymilph in China (according to the intermission map).

Now that I think about it, I don't think I've ever fought mooks from a series when the heroes of that series weren't in my party (or about to join my party). Seems like a wasted chance for crossover hijinks to me.

Oh, and I forgot about those floating things with one eye and those white things with gun arms that shoot red needle lasers.

Eureka Seven's (movie's) Image, and Dancougar Nova's Regulus Alpha.

While the Image are supposed to be a major threat, Dancouga Nova spends most of it's time fighting Genocidrons, which you'll typically see in most WLF arrangements. I don't recall if the Regulus Alpha attack anyone other than Dancougar... Well, yes, there was that party, but it was attended by Team D and R-Daigun's Eida, and held by F.S., so it's fairly reasonable to assume that they were being targeted specifically.

However, that is the plot of Gundam 00's movie... but at the same time, that was the plot of Gunbuster, too, and it never seemed to come to that point. It was actually one of the issues with Alpha 3. Alpha 2 went and came to a satisfying conclusion about all the infighting between humans... and then they inserted Gundam Seed, which just magically appeared out of nowhere, and was just re-hashing the Earthanoid/Spacenoid conflict from early UC.

But, yeah, plot. Supers simply aren't given the overwhelming plot dominance required to ignore the plot of any given Real series, no matter how many invaders there are. Considering their relative difficulty, DAMON are the only ones in this game with any real sense of power, urgency or worldwide spread - and even then, the Imperium is just 5 guys in a battleship, and compared to Schneizel's FLEIJA Superweapon (like a bigger nuke), just doesn't really seem intimidating.
