iOS is better. Zen Garden basically freezes when not playing it.

On iOS, (iPhone), your snail keeps working when playing in Zen mode. In this game, zen Mode freezes when not playing. Touch screen isnt as responsive on Vita when playing this compared to iPhone version. Frozen zen garden means getting coins will take a lot longer. I do like the extra slot in this version but Ii play the iphone version a lot more. This version is good, iPhone version is better, fyi, imho.

But at the same time, the iOS version actually has a NEED for you to amass large amounts of money.

Here, since the mini-games unlock themselves, there's less of a currency drain. You don't really need the tiny amounts of cash the snail picks up for you - just selling duplicate plants you find along the way will let you max out your seed capacity and buy everything useful long before you've completed the garden.

You just clarified why the Vita version is the weaker version. And Zen Garden has more purpose in the iOS version.

It's all a question of what you're looking for. There's more artificial need for money on the iPhone, whereas it's easier to access all the different ways to play the game faster on the Vita. Taking longer to unlock the same content isn't necessarily a better feature.

The main reason the iPhone's better is because, well, it's $3 (or cheaper during sales) compared to $15, as long as you resist the urge to buy your way to a fully unlocked game faster on the phone.

And I think we can both agree that the iPad/3DS versions are the real weak versions because neither of them have Zen Garden in ANY capacity ...
