Because they can't handle that it was an awful region that spawned Team Aqua (HAY GUYZ! WOULDN'T IT BE AWESOME IF THERE WERE MORE PLACES TO SWIM!?).

Delusional fanboys thinking Nintendo/Gamefreak will fulfill their greatest fantasies, since they're actually not a game company, but a personal kindred spirit to each and every one of us :D

People are forgetting why they even remade rby and gsc. most of those pokemon were not accessible to gen 3 and 4, so they had to update them so people can legitimately complete their pokedexes. Ruby and sapphire are still accessible through the DS

FR/LG, yes. That is why they were made.

HG/SS, no. You can make a case for Lugia and Ho-oh, which required either the Gamecube games or an event (and were treated as event Pokemon in R/S/E, FR/LG, and D/P/Pt for that very reason), but every other Pokemon could be imported from the GBA games without too much of a hassle.
The Johto starters and legendary beasts could also be argued, since they were the most annoying to get without the Gamecube games, but they also could have put them in Platinum. Instead, they put in the legendary birds, even though they weren't hard to get in FR/LG, and they ended up putting them in HG/SS anyway.

If you want to make the argument that each generation should be self-contained and not require the older games to collect every Pokemon, then I agree with you. But currently, there's a butt-ton of legendaries and starters that require the older games, and a good number of normal Pokemon families too. Plus stuff that's Dream World only. So unless B2/W2 happen to include 4 regions worth of starters and over 30 legendaries, R/S remakes would be perfect for reintroducing some of those.

But you can get the weather trio in HG/SS, and, IIRC, Jirachi from one of the Pokewalker locations. Of course, that still leaves Deoxys...

And I only see one Hoenn topic topic on the first page...and I have it set to 50 topics per page.
