Looks like the original unova starters are back

My first run of Pokemon Black was awesome because of Snivy
He was so bad movepool wise + the new EXP system so I had hard time to carry the game with him only (like I usually do)
So I finally had a reason to train other Pokemon and it was far more enjoyable
Then I played White and picked Oshawott...he could carry the game pretty easily but since it was boring I wanted to train other Pokemon...until I realized there is no reason so I sticked with Oshawott

So,pick Snivy if you want to have fun

I'll be honest I really like Snivy he looks awesome and has some pretty awesome moves like Leaf Blade, Coil and Leech Seed. Unfortunately there really isn't much in it's movepool in BW that makes much use of it outside of a support set which is why I'm hoping that B2/W2 introduce some Move Tutors to show off just how awesome it is.

I'd be ok with the monkey trio for two reasons;

The first is I'm a fan of them, mostly pan/simi-sage. But I like the concept, and if it meant getting to be given all three unova starters, definitely worth it in my book.

Also I have this awesome natural ability to not use my starter, so if I didn't like it, I wouldn't use it.

i like having discussions, so lets discuss the topics, not the spelling, or grammar. and lets be nice in the process.

And Chandelure with it's brilliant typing and monstrous special attack makes a more than wonderful replacement.

Yeah, but it sucks that you get him so late AND that he evolves at such a high level. Though I suppose by the time you actually get him, it's not too far away.

Luckily Eevee seems to be available in this game, hopefully early on. They're always a solid choice, I mean, who doesn't love em? I know I'll inevitably have all of them in my B/W2 teams, though ever since gen IV I've had to split them up because of the extra.

You realize all of them are Grass type?
He also learns 2 Poison type moves but they don't deal damage
Also he learns Tackle and Slam...Tackle is early game and Slam is terrible

Aerial Ace and Dragon Tail are the only damaging moves he can learn from TMs (that are not Grass type) and AA is after the sixth gym and DT after the eight.......

So yeah, enjoy using Giga Drain and Leaf Blade the whole time (Leaf Storm not worth using without Contrary)

I hope for new starters though I don't expect it at all. I'll only use Tepig out of the gen V starters, and I'd like to try a different pokemon if given the chance. But there's no chance I would ever let Samurott or Serperior touch my team.

There were screenshots of Serperior in the initial scans.

As for my starter, I'm probably going to go with Snivy.

"Except Samurott is also a Samurai."

I didn't say he wasn't. Just that he's basically much more hideous and without charm compared to Dewott.

For me, it's just not a very fitting evolution of his other two forms.

I played through the Japanese White with Samurott, he had a weird move set because I didn't understand most of it. It ended up being something like Surf/Revenge/Dig/(I can't even remember the fourth). I'd somehow chosen him because I knew I wanted Snivy (SMUGLEAF) for the 'proper' English run of Black, and I...can't remember why I didn't pick Tepig. I really hated Oshawott at the time as well- it was derp-o-rama back then before the Japanese release.

So I'm wondering if this time I should pick Tepig...I have a rule where I try and use a fire, water and grass type on my team, and try not to repeat types. Also I would like to get a few special attackers on there; any special grass types people recommend as fun in-game mons? I'm hoping this expanded dex has Roserade, always looked pretty cool.
