In Black and White, they're found on the same route. It's weak evidence, but evidence. I've heard somewhere that Heracross may have been intended as a Pinsir evo before it was decided that 'cross was too different from Pinsir, but I have no idea how accurate that is. --- Creator of Jay's Journey (see quote!) I don't get why people think version exclusives means they're automatically related. It's true in some cases, such as Lunatone/Solrock and Zangoose/Seviper but a lot times it's just to give version exclusives. For example, Glameow and Stunky were version exclusives on the same route, but they have nothing to do with each other. Version exclusives often share BSTs so that one version won't appear to have an advantage over the other. I have never heard that Heracross was planned to be a Pinsir evo, and I seriously doubt that. There's a ton of rumors out there like that; when people see some similarity or coincidence they just assume it was planned but scrapped and go around stating it as fact. --- Your opinion differs from mine, therefore you are a troll. | |
Scizor really should have been part of a separate evolution line in the first place. Not only those he bear little resemblance to Scyther, it leaves Pinsir in the dust. I do believe that while some pokemon need evolutions, others just conceptually/competitively work better as standalone pokemon. Scyther, Pinsir, and Heracross all fit in the latter category for me; but if they've already gone ahead and given Scyther an evo, they might as well give Pinsir one as well.. --- Official Absol of the BW2 Boards! | |

Plus they are both bugs and as shown by the coloseum 2 minigame you could get a Pinsir or Scyther as a playable character, so there is another grouping. Green and brown also seem very opposite to me. Also the designs show them to be very aggressive. Also Purugly and Skuntank always just kinda seemed to be partners just design wise, not the closest but it is still there. Also I figure how I want evolutions not by stats but how much it seems right for it to have an evo.
