Then why does it take place in Kanto and has the original 151 pokeman?

No, they are Generation III remakes of Generation I games. There's a difference.


You're darn right there's a difference! They RUINED the originals by adding in that new crap, such as Natures and Abilities, and they nerfed Psychic types! Seriously, it was fine the way it was, damn Gen III babies and their whining.

Ash should

evolve his Pikachu already. Granted, evolution doesn't mean as much in the anime as it does in the games, but when you almost get defeated by a pathetic Magikarp using Tackle, you know there's something wrong. He still has the Thunderstone, too, so there's no excuse.

TR stole it partway through Sinnoh to help Ash and Pikachu avoid the temptation of using it.

The Thunderstone episode mentioned above was basically a re-do of that episode. I can't find it online anymore, though. Then again, I didn't look particularly hard the last couple of times, so you can probably find it up on some obscure anime streaming site someplace.

Every main-series pokemon game ever has those 151 pokemon in them. The only difference is availability.

FR/LG were Gen III games.
