Considering how B/W1 only could use WEP.

No it couldn't. BW could always use WPA, but on a DSi/3DS only.

Where do you get that? Black and White are WPA compatible.

Whenever I tried using BW with a WPA connection on my 3DS, it wouldn't work.

BW could use WPA and WPA2 when played on a DSi or 3DS, so i don't see why these would be any different. Especially since they're also DSi/3DS-enhanced.

You had to go into the Advanced Internet Settings on the DSi/3DS menu and look for your connection. You can't do it through the game's settings, but the game will know anyway.
